TiVo Logo TiVo’s Matthew Zinn wears several hats as senior vice president, general counsel, secretary and chief privacy officer. Last August The Recorder did a profile on him, and now the San Francisco Business Times has interviewed him. They cover some of the same ground as the earlier profile, but it is an interesting look at the man behind TiVo’s legal muscle. I did get a chuckle out of the ‘biggest whoops’.

ONO Extends Spanish TiVo Service Area To Valencia

ONO Logo ONO’s TiVo deployment in Spain continues to chug along. Following the initial successful deployment in Madrid and Barcelona, TiVo is now available to ONO’s fiber optic subscribers in Valencia. ONO’s TiVo service is also coupled with their launch of high-definition and 3D services in these areas. Subscribers also have access to thousands of hours of on-demand content.

ONO’s Marketing TV Director, Fernando Meco, stated:

“Since the launch of our TiVo offering in Madrid and Barcelona we have seen an incredible response from customers that have embraced this new world of on demand and Internet-delivered content. We are thrilled to expand the TiVo solution to even more of our customers, building on ONO’s promise to provide best in class products and services thanks to our fiber optic network.”

Boeing: From Inspiration To Innovation

Boeing Logo Boeing has created a new site, “From Inspiration To Innovation”, to share stories about Boeing and their impact, in both text and video. They’re posted the first three videos so far, and I think they’re interesting for what they are. My favorite is the one on the Blended Wing Body (BWB), I’d love to see a new commercial airliner in that form.

Building The AH-64D Apache Block III – Fast

Boeing Logo The AH-64D Apache Block III is the latest update to the flagship attack helicopter. The Block III brings more powerful engines, new rotor blades for increased payload and speed, a major avionics upgrade – including the ability to control unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from the cockpit, and other changes. UAV control means the Apache crews can send a UAV out to scout ahead and designate targets without exposing the Apache itself to the enemy. Boeing put together a time lapse video of the first Block III Apache being assembled – from start through first flight.

Virgin Media Posts More TiVo How To Videos

Virgin Media TiVo One of the nice things about Virgin Media’s deployment of TiVo in the UK is that they keep producing helpful videos for their users. I’d love to see TiVo in the US and/or their MSO partners doing something similar. I think TiVo could produce a number of generic videos which could then be re-branded by the MSOs. I’ve posted some of Virgin’s TiVo videos before, but they put more out while I was off on my honeymoon. Here they are:
