Home Theater Magazine Likes The TiVo Series3

Home Theater Magazine has an article on the TiVo Series3 in their current issue, and also available online. It is part review, part article, but nearly all positive:

So there you have it. I love this DVR and I have nothing negative to say about its software, its performance or its looks. I’m just not sure if the value proposition that the Series3 offers is enough to make me a fanatic.

The one ding was the price, but the author mentions late in the article that the TiVo HD was released this year and has a lower price, But he didn’t review that, he reviewed the original S3. Also, the pricing he used in the article is a bit off since he doesn’t seem to be aware of the $200 rebate that is available. He did use the $299 3-year pre-paid rate, which is normally the best value. So the ding against the S3 isn’t that strong, and everything else is very positive. Check out the article for yourself.

MeeVee hooks up with TiVo

TiVo really gets around. They continue to expand their consumer reach through partnerships to make it easier for users to schedule recordings. Most recently they linked up with Zap2it in September, and they previously established links with TVGuide.com and Yahoo! TV. And, of course, you can schedule recordings at TiVo.com. And I might be forgetting others. And now you can schedule TiVo recordings online at MeeVee.com. Via PVR Wire @ TV Squad.
