What’s an HDTV without an HD DVR to go with it? Who wants to be a slave to TV schedules just to catch HD content? Well, Amazon has a solution to that problem, they’re offering what I consider the best HD DVR on the market, the TiVo HD, free with the purchase of a Samsung HDTV.
There are five LCD models to choose from, with prices from $945.72 for a 37″ 720p up to $1,849.98 for a 46″ 1080p, and six plasma models with prices from $979.99 for a 42″ 720p up to $2,999.99 for a 58″ 1080p. If you’re in the market for an HDTV, it is a pretty good deal.
And, if you’re not in the market for an HDTV, you can get the TiVo HD for $230.13.

Looks like Amazon just dropped the price on the TiVo HD another $5.07 to $225.06

Sorry, it wasn’t Amazon that dropped the price. A third party seller (6th Ave. Electronics) dropped the price to $225.06. Amazon is still selling it for $230.13. I still think $225.06 is the lowest price we’ve seen so far for a TiVo HD.

Thanks for the heads up about Amazon’s current price! I ordered a TiVo HD from them last week, and was pleasantly surprised to be able to get a $29.86 refund… which I then ended up using to pay the sales tax I didn’t realize I’d be hit with when getting lifetime. Win some, lose some, I guess.
But TWC NY just told I could pick up a Cable Card in person and do a self-install rather than going through the hassle of a service call, so that’s like saving another $30.
