Get a Series3 TiVo for only $510.98!!*

*Plus, possibly, tax

I picked this up from TiVoBlog. Dell (yes, Dell) is selling the Series3 for $588.16 with free 3-5 day shipping. It is listed for $691.95, but there is currently a special – 15% off any Electronics or Accessories purchase over $400, which cuts $103.79 off the price, down to $588.16. This special apparently expires at 07:00 CST on 12/21 – so don’t wait too long!

On top of that, there are ‘stackable’ Dell coupons for an *additional* 10% off up for sale on eBay – as detailed in this TiVoCommunity.com thread. But the stackable coupons are only good through 12/20 (TODAY!), so if you want that, act fast. This drops it to $529.34 total! You may be charged tax depending on your location.

The 15% off deal alone is good, since Dell sells them for well under MSRP, it comes to over 26% off MSRP. With the additional savings it is over 1/3 off MSRP!

Act now. :-)

(Boy, I’m sure some people are going to be steamed they paid more – I did to, but that’s life.)

EDIT: Dell dropped the price from $691.95 to $667.95! With the 15% discount that cuts $100.19, for a total of $567.76! And there are stackable 10% coupons, as above, which further drops the total to $510.98! It looks like there are some new coupons good through January – but don’t wait, since it seems the 15% off still expires tomorrow.

New TiVo ads

Dave Zatz over at ZatzNotFunny captured one each of TiVo’s new TV and radio ads and posted them. The TV ad I’ve caught while 30-second-skipping my way through ads, I think on something from The History Channel, maybe The Discovery Channel. The radio ad was new to me (I have Sirius in my car, which is the only time I listen to radio, so no ads) – and, ugh, sorry, but I think that’s one of the most annoying ads I’ve heard. Definitely worse than the earlier ‘Taco’ radio ad, which I also thought was annoying, just not as bad. But, in any case, it is nice to see them doing more advertising to get the brand out there and hopefully drive some more sales for the holidays.

TiVo Survey Reveals Top 10 Most Unforgettable TV Moments of 2006 According to American TV Viewers

As the year draws to a close, American TV viewers reveal their top picks for the most memorable TV moments of 2006 in a poll conducted by TiVo Inc. (Nasdaq: TIVO), the company that created the digital video recorder (DVR) and continues to revolutionize the way Americans watch television. These are the moments that got America talking, from the shocking to the hilarious, and stopped viewers in their tracks, becoming the subject of water-cooler conversations, website and blog chatter, and, in some cases, pop culture phenomena in their own right. The TiVo(R) service makes finding and capturing the most sought-after moments on television simple and easy, leading millions of viewers to agree that it is the best way to watch television. TiVo commissioned a survey through top poll company Synovate to find out what moments Americans remember as the TV highlights of 2006.

Top TV Moments of 2006 Survey Results
Rank
1 Katie Couric’s last day on “Today”
2 Mel Gibson’s interview with Diane Sawyer after his DWI arrest
3 Oprah tells author James Frey he betrayed readers
4 Sara and Grissom get together on “CSI”
5 Faith Hill’s reaction to Carrie Underwood’s win at “CMA Awards”
6 Kirstie Alley’s bikini reveal on “Oprah”
7 “Will & Grace” series finale in which their kids start dating
8 Kate and Sawyer get together on “Lost”
9 Rosie O’Donnell’s debut on “The View”
10 Connie Chung attempting a sultry serenade of Maury Povich

Hmm, I saw one of those – #10 – only because it was shown on The Daily Show, I believe. Maybe The Colbert Report. :-) This looks like a fluff survey done as a publicity stunt to get TiVo’s name in the press during the holiday shopping season.
