Mark noticed that Amazon is now carrying the 500GB eSATA Western Digital My DVR Expander, the only drive currently approved for use with the TiVo Series3 and the TiVo HD, in fact the only drive that works with the TiVo HD without hacking. It looks like Amazon started stocking it on April 30th. The $192.23 price is better than the full $199.99 MSRP that TiVo.com sells them for, but not the lowest price available online, for example, Buy.com has it for $172.99. I use one of these with my Series3 and it works great. I’ve also updated the site store.

Buy.com is running a ‘Blu-ray Blowout’ with 36 titles and prices from $15 to $25.

Buy.com is running a Blu-ray sale through April 7th with 21 titles for $17.50 each. There is also a sale on PS3 accessories through March 31st, including the Blu-ray Remote for $19.99. And to calibrate your Blu-ray setup they have the newly released Blu-ray of Digital Video Essentials HD Basics, and decent prices on Blu-ray Discs in general.

After catching the Best Buy HD DVD sale I’d missed earlier, I checked some of my other affiliates for high-def sales. Looks like Buy.com still has a couple of ‘Blu-ray Blowout’ sales running. One, which is indefinite, has 32 titles with pricing starting at $16. The other, which runs through February 29th, has prices starting at $15.

And, on the subject of Blu-ray, independent distributor Surround Records, which releases multi-channel audio discs on DVD and HD DVD, is also adding Blu-ray to their format lineup. Buy.com is having a sale on the Panasonic DMP-BD30K Blu-ray player for $409.99 from 1/7 through 1/13. This is one of the few Profile 1.1 BD players on the market today, and it is considered one of the best players available, with extensive support for advanced audio codecs.

Also 1/7-1/13 they’re selling a bundle of the Slingbox PRO and HD Connect cable for $195.00.

From 12/27 through 12/31 Buy.com is having a sale on Roxio Toast 8 Titanium. While MSRP is $99.99, Buy.com is selling it for $57.99, and a $20 mail-in rebate brings it down to $37.99. Roxio Toast is the premier CD/DVD burning software for the Mac, and it has support for TiVo built-in. If you use a Mac and you just got a TiVo, of vice-versa, you might want to grab this deal.
