The bundle deal with The Ultimate Matrix Collection expired on the 18th, but they’ve replaced it with a new deal. Purchase the Samsung BD-P1500, currently listed at $223.60, and select two free Blu-ray titles from a list of 39 available. Pricing on the titles available run from $13.95 to $19.95. Not quite as good a deal as the Matrix promo, but still a pretty good one. Right now this looks like the best offer for a Profile 2.0 / BD-Live player.
Picked up from Blu-ray Stats News Log.

This weekend Amazon VOD has a few deals available. First up Fight Club, Sex and the City, and 21 are $0.99 rentals, and Definitely, Maybe and Run Fat Boy Run are $1.99 rentals.
Second the October Scary Movie Sale continues this week with ten titles - though two of them are shared with the general sale, and I really don’t see how they’re scary movies or thrillers: Sex and the City and 21. I suppose they may be scary to someone, the though of having to watch Sex and the City is kind of frightening to me. But the other eight titles make more sense: Hard Candy, John Carpenter’s Vampires, The Devil’s Rejects, Fallen, The Seventh Sign, Body Snatchers, Poltergeist II: The Other Side, and Scream and Scream Again.
And they’re still running an Adam Sandler movie sale - seven of his films to purchase at $5.99 each: Anger Management, Mr. Deeds, Punch-Drunk Love, 50 First Dates, Spanglish, Adam Sandler’s Eight Crazy Nights, and Big Daddy.

This weekend Amazon VOD continues the Scary Movie Sale. $1.99 for Chair, and nine titles each $0.99 to rent: Interview with the Vampire, An American Haunting, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows, The Exorcist, I Know What You Did Last Summer, A Stranger Is Watching, Pumpkinhead, and Christine.
And they’re running an Adam Sandler sale - six of his films to purchase at $5.99 each: Anger Management, Mr. Deeds, Punch-Drunk Love, 50 First Dates, Spanglish, and Big Daddy. No that’s scary.

This weekend Amazon VOD isn’t offering up the traditional $0.99 rental sale. But all is not lost, there are a few interesting freebies. NBC is offering up the season two premier episodes of Chuck and Life gratis. And Michael Moore’s latest movie, Slacker Uprising, is also available for free. (I checked out the new Chuck - look for a little TiVo product placement early on.)
And there are more traditional sales as well. Rent one MGM film and get a second rental free. The instructions are on the right hand side of that page. There’s also another $5.99 movie sale, purchase any of ten films for just $5.99.

If you’re a regular Amazon shopper, as I am, Amazon Prime is great. You get free two-day shipping on most everything you buy. There is a $79 annual fee, but it is well worth it if you purchase enough over the course of a year. And you can try Amazon Prime free for one month. Cancel before the trial period ends and you won’t be charged.

Amazon is running a few Blu-ray sales currently.
The Get Three for the Price of Two sale has been extended, with 36 titles to choose from.
Then you can save up to 55% off a selection of 95 titles.
If you have a PS3 but you don’t yet have the DVD/Blu-ray remote to go with it (using the SixAxis to control movies is fairly crappy), buy three Warner Blu-ray movies and get the PS3 remote free.
And last but not least, buy a Blu-ray player and three Warner Blu-ray movies and save $50. It looks like the players on offer include the Sony BDP-S300 Profile 1.0 for $199.98, the Sony BDP-S350 Profile 1.1 for $295.00, the Samsung BD-P1500 Profile 2.0 for $279.99, and the Panasonic DMP-BD30K Profile 1.1 for $274.81. (Personally I’d pick the Samsung.) On the movie side there are 122 titles to select from.

Nothing two impressive this week from Amazon Video On Demand, though there are a number of free downloads that tie into the new fall TV season.
There is a Romantic Movie Sale which is offering twelve movies for purchase, not rent, at $5.99.
