Some people can be paranoid

This guy seems to think TiVo is making his unit record ‘porn’ to corrupt him or his family.

I wonder how many people need to tell him his being paranoid before he believes it – or maybe he’ll think it is a conspiracy.

Some interesting news from PTVUpgrade.com

I just received the following email and I thought I’d share:

Hello from PTVupgrade –We are continuing to work towards bringing you supportable networking products for your Series2 TiVo units and will have products available for shipment in time for the Christmas season!

The first phase of our planned products will include pre-configured replacement drive kits bundled with USB adapters. Less expensive, DIY software-tools will be released at a later date.

The following features will be made available on most Series2 standalone and Series2 DirecTiVo units

1) TiVoWeb Plus, with several PTVupgrade pre-configured modules

2) telnet/ftp access for advanced use and third party application installation

3) miscellenous Linux utilities to aid in tool development and management

Please let us know what type of Series2 you have and are most likely to upgrade, either with a replacement drive kit or with a DIY kit made available at a later date, by going to the following link and responding to the quick polls at the top of the networking forum.

Thanks and have a great weekend!

Lou
