The TiVo House Party

I have no idea if this is officially endorsed by TiVo or what, but check out The TiVo House Party. I’m not sure exactly what the site’s angle is. Apparently you sign up and then they select people to be hosts of house parties to introduce other people to something the host enjoys – like TiVo. (They’re also planning a TiVo KidZone specific one.) They send you some kind of host kit with stuff to give away, etc. It looks like the site is basically designed to encourage viral marketing amongst friends. See “What is a House Party™?”

Canadian TiVo reseller

There is now a Canadian company selling TiVo: The PVR Source. They sell standard S2 TiVos, as well as upgraded units similar to WeaKnees.com or PTVUpgrade.com in the US. Since they’re in Canada, Canadians can order from them without worrying about customs and shipping from the US.

‘M:I-3′: Simultaneous release in three DVD formats

Call it the “Mission: Impossible III” triple play. In an industry first, Paramount Home Entertainment is expected to announce Friday that it will release the $133.4 million summer movie hit on DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray discs all on the same day, Oct. 30.
