How much do you love TiVo?

Enough to have a TiVo themed wedding? Well, Andy and Tina Szeto love TiVo that much! TiVo donated their antenna headbands for all of the attendees as well as a mound of TiVo plushies, and the wedding cakes were his & her TiVo cakes by Debbie Does Cakes.

Dave Zatz also found a picture of the cakes posted on Flickr by Debbie Does Cakes. And a San Francisco Chronicle blogger also covered it.

TiVo launches new feature – Universal Swivel Search

TiVo is launching a new feature on Tuesday, Universal Swivel Search. TiVoPony has announced it in a post at TiVoCommunity.com and USA Today already has an article on it. It will be rolling out to units with broadband over the next six weeks.

Universal Swivel Search (USS) is a new search feature available to TiVo owners with broadband connected units. It is ‘universal’ in that it searches not just programming information for broadcast content, but also any TiVoCast content – which includes Amazon Unbox. You can ‘swivel’ on one data point to new results – such as other shows connected by an actor, or a category. It is a very free-form way to search and explore related content. Ordering Amazon Unbox content from within USS isn’t available yet, but it is ‘coming soon’.

If you want to be one of the first to get it, sign up for the priority list. The product page also has video demos of USS in use.

Amazon drops price on TiVo Series3

It must be a recent change, I just noticed that Amazon has dropped their price on the TiVo Series3 to $606.95. That’s the second best price I know of, currently – the TiVoCommunity.com Store still has them for $599.99. – with shipping. (Yes, I get a referral credit for the Amazon purchases.) It looks like the S3 might be settling in around $600 as the generally available price – Abe’s of Maine also has them for $599.99 – but shipping is not included. The price coming down is definitely a good thing – the lower it drops, the more people will buy.
