Warner joins Blu-ray DVD camp

Warner Bros. Entertainment said Thursday that its home video division will release DVDs in the high-definition Blu-ray format. The move further tips the scales in an industry weighing the merits of two rival next-generation technologies.

GAME OVER!

This leaves Universal as the sole HD-DVD hold out. You know there is no way in hell they’re going to try to go it alone (OK, Paramount and Warner claim they’ll be doing both – but c’mon, that’s face saving), so I’m sure they’ll be announcing BD support any time now.
