VMD to hit US with ’100 titles’

Versatile Multilayer Disc (VMD), one of the lesser-known formats jostling to become the successor to DVD, will launch in the US later this year with the release of more than 100 titles, the company behind the technology pledged today. To indicate the VMD’s support among the major Hollywood studios, New Media Enterprises (NME) said the launch titles will include… er… “several Broadway shows”.

Errr, yeah. This isn’t even MiniDisc or DAT, it is like DCC. (Digital Compact Cassette – remember that? No? I’m not surprised.)

Hidden feature in Mac TiVo Desktop 1.9.3

It isn’t TiVoToGo, yet, but TiVoToComeBack (publishing video TO the TiVo) is available in the recent 1.9.3 release for MacOS. It looks like it isn’t complete, so it was disabled by default, but Dennis Wilkinson over at TiVoCommunity.com has discovered how to enable the feature.
