Four Days Left On TiVo Series2DT Deal

The affiliate promotion that TiVo has been running comes to an end on January 31, 2008 – this Thursday. Through the promotion you can get an 80-hour S2DT for $49.99 when you sign up for 1-year of monthly service at $12.95/month, or pre-pay $129, $249, or $299 for 1-, 2-, or 3-years, respectively.

TiVo Publisher for Windows Home Server

Developer Rob Durfee has written an Add-in for Windows Home Server (WHS) called ‘TiVo Publisher‘, which does what you might expect given the name. Installing it on your Windows Home Server allows you to publish music, photos, and video for access from your TiVo. The current version is 1.21 and you can check out the FAQ for more info.

TiVo As A Modern Marvel

I just noticed that an upcoming episode of The History Channel series Modern Marvels, entitled ‘90s Tech‘, includes TiVo in the ‘marvels’ it’ll be covering. It is airing at 20:00 on Thursday, February 7th on The History Channel and History HD. Times may vary by location so check your listings, or just use this link to TiVo Central Online. As with many cable programs, it will repeat a few times. I guess TiVo just squeaked in under the wire to be 90s tech, as the first units shipped on March 31, 1999.
