Firm intros text-friendly two-sided discs

DualDisc and DVD(plus) discs have until now been devoid of graphics, apart from limited text on the inner ring. Because both sides of these CD/DVD hybrids contain optical data, it has been impossible to apply graphics to them.

TiVo loss less than expected

TiVo, maker of digital television recorders, said Monday that its quarterly net loss widened as it boosted spending to acquire customers, but the number of subscribers to its fee-based television service rose sharply.
