The Motorola Digital Video Baby Monitor with DECT, Night Vision & Color LCD Screen is only $69.99 + $5 S&H. The receiver has a 1.5″ LCD screen while the camera in the transmitter has infrared night vision. Of course it also has a sensitive mic so you can listen on on your target, I mean, the baby. And all of this is encrypted and transmitted wirelessly using 1.9GHz DECT 6.0. You can also use them as a two-way intercom and there are five lullabies built right in, in case the tyke starts waking up. And if you wander out of the 200 meter range, the receiver will warn you.

These have a $129.99 MSRP, and sell on Amazon for $109.99, so you’re saving $40-$60. And these are new units, not refurbished.

I loved toys like this as a kid… OK, so I’m 40 and I still kind of like toys like this. I started out with Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, and the like, and moved up to Girders and Panels, Erector, and, of course, Lego Blocks. I had some Capsela too. But K’nex didn’t hit the market until later.

This K’Nex Hot Shot! Video Coaster looks pretty cool, and a good deal at $49.99 + $5 S&H. You… I mean the child you give this to, can build a roller coaster with a motorized chain lift so you can run the cars around on their own. But through the miracle of modern technology you get to experience riding your creation because of the cars is a miniature digital video camera! That’s definitely something we didn’t have when I was a kid. (Of course the Columbia House Music Club was still offering 8-Track and Reel-to-Reel along with cassette and LP when I first joined. Look all of that up, kids.)

It’s not high-def, the resolution is just 320×240, but still, how cool is that? You can record 15 seconds on the build in 16MB of storage or add a 2GB microSD card for longer recordings. Video is transferred to your PC via USB.

Amazon sells this new for $79.97, and MSRP is $99.99, so this looks like a good deal.

World’s Smallest Apache 3 Channel RC Mini Helicopter for $14.99 + $5 S&H. “World’s Smallest” means 5.80” L x 1.97” W x 3.55” H and a weight of just 0.56 ounces, and three channel control means you can control forward & backward flight, make left & right turns, and ascend & descend. That’s pretty nice, I was given a 2ch chopper where I can only control ascent and descent and turns, it is constantly moving forward so flying it is a bit tricky. There’s no stopping or hovering.
