For my first CableCARD install the tech had never done one before. I was the first person in my territory to have a CableCARD TiVo - since I had one pre-release as a review unit that's not surprising. I did the install myself - he handed me the card, I wrote down the info, installed the card, got to the right screens on the TiVo, etc. He called in the numbers. This happened a few more times early on, but eventually they improved and my most recent interactions with Charter installers were much better n regard to CableCARD.I haven't dealt with them as much because, since I've had to re-pair my cards most often than most due to trying out different products, I ended up developing a contact at my local office who would handle it for me without requiring a truck roll. And then Charter started offering support on Twitter and those folks will do a re-pair for you quickly and easily so that's what I've done the past few times I've needed to.And now they allow self-installs, I haven't tried that system out yet.
