Is an electric mower not a gizmo? I think it is. This place gets boring when it’s all expensive TV stuff all the time.

When I first started reading the post, I couldn’t help but think why in the hell it would be posted here. I thought, “What in the world? Its a stinking MOWER!” Then I got sucked in. Now I want to see video of the back 40 as you called it in the update.

xd – FYI, they do have a smaller, less expensive model (the 5.2 CE), and they offer discounts on reconditioned used mowers. Last year’s model, the 5.1, will set you back about $334 with shipping (reconditioned). It looks like it doesn’t have quite as robust a battery, so it’s not good for as long a continuous mow, but the site claims it’s good for a quarter-acre.

Something like this would be real nice for my smallish lawn. I currently mow my lawn with no energy use, well just human energy. I have a push reel mower and that just gets tiring after a while. If I could afford it I would love to have one.

They had a booth at the county fair in Upstate NY where I live. I checked them out. Pretty cool, but I have about an acre and a half to mow.
