Unfortunately, due to limitations of Palm OS, the Google Maps application is stuck at 1.2.0.9 while it is 2.2.0 for other devices, with cool features like 'My Location'.Personally I wasn't interested in the first generation iPhone. The new 3G iPhone is a little more interesting, but I'm still not ready to jump. But I think when Android hits that may be the end of my ten year relationship with Palm OS.

Even if the AT&T Centro doesn’t come with Google Maps installed, you can download and install it yourself. I hate how everyone online says that the palm os is dead, when it suits my needs just fine. Yes it might be not as fancy as the Iphones OSX or have as many full featured apps as WinMo, but it doesnt crash half as much as WinMo and it lets me install any app unlike the iphone so I think its a great happy medium to those two.

I love my sprint treo 755p. It's a cheap, small smartphone that -- from reading online forums -- is being picked up by a lot of first time Palm and/or smartphone users. This is certainly true for me as Centro (black one from Sprint) is my first Palm and smartphone. I could have picked up any of WM phone on Sprint at the time (Jan. '08), but they all had way too many issues and were cumbersome to operate. On the other hand, Centro is pretty darn stable (maybe, 6 reboots in 6+ months) and, surprisinly, user interface actually looks a lot better in person than on screenshots.P.S. Quote: "...though the Blazer browser is surprisingly adept at displaying Google Maps."
Does AT&T's version no have GoogleMaps client like Sprint's? I never even tried to access GoogleMaps using Blazer since there's an app.

I don’t think “those with an attachment to the Palm way of life” is the reason why Centro has been such a huge hit for Palm.
