No doubt if you just want to go down the feature list and check off items it is ahead. But that doesn't mean it will provide the best experience for watching movies. There are other aspects that are harder to quantify like resolution pass-through, resume from previous spot etc, that might not make it the best.

Well, when 2.30 hits I think it'll sweep the Blu-ray feature set. The only thing missing right now is DTS-HD HR/MA. Well, I suppose some will knock it for not being able to bitstream TrueHD or DTS-HD HR/MA, but I think that's minor. And the PS3 certainly has far more power than any other BD player on the market, and BD-Live/BD-J allows for scaling features to the capabilities of the box, so the PS3 should provide the best experience. And we've seen Sony showing off digital copy features with the PS3 to transfer a portable copy to the PSP, and presumably other portable devices. And the PS3 has the power to handle Managed Copy transcoding in the future. I think it is the most future-proof option, and it is priced competitively with other BD players.

I would accept someone else's claim that it is the best BD player right now, but since I've never used one, I really couldn't say.

It depends, how loud is the PS3 when watching a Blu-ray movie?
