Right now one of the TiVo Central promotions, the ‘Gold Star’ ads at the bottom of the main menu on the TiVo, is giving away free $5 gift card for Amazon.com. It is the one labeled ‘Live the Dream for Less Coin.’ with the ‘Corolla the X’ graphic. (There are up to three promos in rotation, if you enter and leave the Now Playing List the switch each time.) Click on the promo, then the second choice in the menu is ‘Get a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card’. It isn’t much, but it is enough for a free rental or two at Amazon Unbox.
I read the ‘fine print’ and I didn’t see a catch – nothing to indicate you’ll be signed up for anything else by claiming the card. However, it is limited to 5,000 cards given away from March 20 through March 26, and another 5,000 given away March 27 through April 2. Limit one per household.
EDIT: I forgot there is an easier way to get to the promo than cycling through the ads – just go into Showcases & TV Guide then select the ‘Corolla the X’ Showcase.
