Oddly enough, I received a Crutchfield catalog earlier this week with the player at the same price. I wonder if the brick-n-mortar stores will carry it at this price.Neither Crutchfield nor Amazon described this as a Profile 1.1/Bonus View compatible player. Considering the price makes it aimed at the home theatre crowd, one would think this was an important selling point to mention it directly. My only reason for buying a combo-player is to watch the new Trek TOS set. Had been thinking of buying this. But even discounted at $800 it's still a steep price. Maybe I should just wait for Paramount's exclusivity deal to run it's course and wait for Trek on BluRay.

Amazon had me pegged as a possible buyer, they sent me an email on Thursday whose sole subject was this player.
