Well, you do have the option of getting a TiVo Series3 or TiVo HD and using CableCARD instead.

Fantastic. Meanwhile I’m stuck with Comcrap’s miserable Motorola box that does nothing bu freeze, pixelate, mute, and delay any buttons I press for 10+ seconds. Hey, at least Comcast is raising prices for 2008 on all of their services by an average of 7+%. Wow, I wish I got a 7+% raise each year!

It probably won’t be in Philly for a while. Comcast, so far, has only announced plans for Boston and the surrounding New England area. And it isn’t even widely available here yet, last week on their quarterly call TiVo said it is only in a few non-employee homes at this time and it will be widely available ‘soon’. Comcast isn’t likely to make it available elsewhere until they’ve completed the roll-out in Boston. And then they plan to go area by area, so any given area may not see the software for a while, depending where it falls on the list.

And STILL we have no notice around Philly. Just for the heck of it, I did a Tivo availability search on Comcast’s website, by zip codes around Boston and NY, and nothing comes up as available there either. I hate my current box! come on Comcrap!
