This is the 'up charge' to get TiVo software instead of the normal DVR software on the Motorola box. I called to ask and they told me $2.95 as well, and that's when I asked more questiones and realized they weren't talking about the same thing as I was. I figured something was up when they told me to call the 1800 Tivo phone number to buy a box from them. Sigh.
