40GB PlayStation3 coming for $399.99

More confirmation that a new, lower cost PS3 model is coming – this time from Target. Gaming Bits has photos from a Target UPC scanner showing the listing for the new 40GB model with a $399.99 price. This is most likely a US version of the 40GB model recently released in Europe, which has two USB ports instead of four, and lacks the memory card reader as well as backwards compatibility with PS1 & PS2 games. This will be one of the best values for a Blu-ray player as well.
