Anyhow, all news rolling out of IFA is clearly fairly lame for both sides.
It is quite obvious both are keeping any meaningful news til CEDIA.
Spinning the above to sound in any way meaningful from IFA is quite silly.
I'm not patting HD-DVD on the back either as IFA news from both was pretty tame.Several sites are now reporting that the Stand Alone Player sales % by BD in Europe are due to the BDA counting Dollars spent on the players NOT units. Quite funny as they cost 2-3xs as much per unit and are only bought by folks with big wallets. It's all spin - from every side to some degree...gotta love it! To be fair, I believe most of those reports are coming from the AVS Insider thread where a BD insider explained how the figure was obtained. IMO stats are meaningless when the people reporting them give no time frame or clear basis for the numbers.BDA also promised a huge Blu-Ray announcement on Friday from Hitachi. That announcement ended up being the camcorder everyone has known about for quite some time.Blu-Ray/HDDVD better both step it up before fans get bored waiting...http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/ifa-2007/blu+ray-conference--kicking-ass-putting-people-to-sleep-295150.php

Gizmodo has a fun review of Blu-Ray at the urlIFA news at the bottom.<br
