Verizon Wireless TiVo scheduling software to deploy next week
Earlier tonight, or, rather, last night, I posted and entry about the new AT&T Homezone cell phone support. In that post I wondered what ever happened to the Verizon-TiVo partnership that was announced last year, that was to bring TiVo control to Verizon cell phones.
Well, later in the evening I found (actually Google found and told me about) a couple of articles which claim that the Verizon software will be out next week. Here’s one and here’s the other one.
So it looks like we’ll get a look at it soon enough.

I might play with this, but it certainly isn’t something I’d pay much for. I do take advantage of TiVo Central Online to set up recordings at the last minute, and sometimes I’m without a web browser, but that rare opportunity won’t be worth a monthly fee or anything like that.

I’m in the same boat — the only part of the VZW service that appeals to me is the phone-scheduling, and (as usual) VZW has priced it ridiculously. $2/month for something I’d use a half-dozen times a year is WAY too much.
(I’m happy with VZW’s service, basic price plans and coverage… but the pricing of their add-on services has never been anything short of atrocious.)
