(I'm happy with VZW's service, basic price plans and coverage... but the pricing of their add-on services has never been anything short of atrocious.) I’m in the same boat — the only part of the VZW service that appeals to me is the phone-scheduling, and (as usual) VZW has priced it ridiculously. $2/month for something I’d use a half-dozen times a year is WAY too much.

I do take advantage of TiVo Central Online to set up recordings at the last minute, and sometimes I'm without a web browser, but that rare opportunity won't be worth a monthly fee or anything like that.
