TiVo Decode Manager for MacOS

I knew it wouldn’t take long before someone wrapped TiVo Decode in an easier to use interface. Or this one. Looks like this was first released a couple of days ago, I just picked up on it from PVRWire.

    These are decent next steps.

I really wish someone would implement a Quicktime wrapper around ffmpeg or something to create a MPEG2 codec and then layer tivodecode on top of that to create a codec that plays these files. That would avoid the problem of stripping DRM from the files and make it a little nicer to the poor abused networks.

Not everyone who is stripping DRM from tivo’d television/etc., is distributing it to other people.

I didn’t say they were. I wqas simply pointing out that a nice codec would solve that problem. Plus should allow burning to DVD, etc.

I am going to take a crack at it over Christmas if no one beats me to it…
