Yep, save $120 on the purchase of a new TiVo Series3. Dave Zatz posted the info over at ZatzNotFunny. The offer expires Sunday.
The dramatic boost some shows received indicates just how much of a paradigm shift DVRs are, even at their current low market penetration. DVRs are going to create huge changes in how networks program their shows.

A unified controller chip isn’t really a big deal. There are many other components involved, and the licensing issues and political obstacles to a unified device are the real blockers.
Well, I was just wrapping up my evening when my S3 rebooted and installed a software update - it now has 8.0.1b-01-2-648. Since it was a minor bump (a to b), I expect it is just a minor bug fix update. I wonder what it fixed.
I’ll have to update the FAQ tomorrow (or later today I suppose, after sleep).
TiVo Blog linked to a post in Troy On TiVo about some new advertising TiVo is doing. Apparently they have ads on the seat-back tray tables on USAirways. The ad is focused on TiVoToGo - which makes sense. “Hey, if you had TiVo and TTG, you could be watching your content right now” is what it comes down to.
It looks like the offer, which linked to tivo.com/usairways, expired on September 15. But the page is still there - an 80-hour S2DT with a free TiVo WiFi adapter and one year of service for $254.00.
