Pulling 1080p off the disc, processing it at 1080i, then deinterlacing back to 1080p? Or is that merely a typo, and it refers to standard DVD playback? I missed this: HD-XA2 HD DVD content output at 1080p available only as a result of up-conversion.

Are they doing the same thing the Samsung Blu-ray player is doing? Pulling 1080p off the disc, processing it at 1080i, then deinterlacing back to 1080p? Or is that merely a typo, and it refers to standard DVD playback?

HD DVD pricing matches Blu-ray for 1080p output.
