I just figured I would take the claim with a grain of salt and see what happens at the end of the year. Personally I just figured that I might be picking up a replacement box via Comcast or Cox or someone else a year from now. 'Specially considering the testing phase of the Comcast unit is up in the next few months. This is the third DVR I have gone through. Two TiVo's and a Replay. Never spent more than $50.00 on them. After the deals that I have had, it is really hard to justify spending more than that.Good to hear that other ppl had the same thing told to them.
I guess I will just evaluate my options when the time comes. Thanks for the info. :-)

I had been told that by a representative when I ordered. It is a little shady that they don't do that automatically, IMHO. Basically it is a tax on the lazy or forgetful. If you don't call and re-up at the lower rate, you get charged the monthly rate of the deal.

Once the first years is up, you can call and drop to the $12.95 level. I wonder if the MIPS deal was test run for this kinda market given the monthly cost of $19.95 it has after the first year.

Can’t say that I am all that excited by this deal.<br
