My name is John Koblin, I’m with Columbia Journalism and currently working on a piece on TiVo. I’m interested in writing about the “catch up” phenomena — that is, you’re way behind in the shows you’ve recorded on your TiVo and you’re playing catch up — sometimes even missing out on a Friday night or two. I smell a bias: “missing out on a Friday night”? So, everyone is supposed to go out every Friday night and eat, drink, dance, etc.?
I predict that the resulting article will spin TiVo as an anti-social device.

well and also, with tivo you never get far behind on your shows. so already it doesn’t seem quite right…
