Online ‘TiVo MatchMaker Quiz’ and San Francisco Mixer to Help Singles Discover TV Compatible Matches

ALVISO, Calif., Feb. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — TiVo (NASDAQ:TIVO) , the company that has long helped subscribers find the TV programs they love, today announced an online “TiVo Matchmaker Quiz” and first ever TiVo Singles Mixer that could help Bay Area singles find true love.

On Monday, February 13, 2006, TiVo will bring together hundreds of singles for the first-ever TiVo Singles’ Mixer, a “speed dating” party that will allow singles to search the crowd to find their perfect TV compatible Valentine. The event will be held in a hip downtown San Francisco location, which will only be disclosed to guests who receive an RSVP confirmation e-mail.

The event will feature TiVo’s special version of speed dating. Attendees will wear name badges that list their favorite shows and they’ll be given a short list of other TiVo fans in attendance who share their same taste in television programs. Singles can then “fast forward” through the crowd to find their TiVo-suggested match. And guests will be given “Thumbs Up” and “Thumbs Down” stickers to privately rate their matches.

“Singles seek to find mates that have similar interests of all kinds, but sharing an interest in the same kinds of television programs can be key to the success of a long-term relationship,” said Katie Ho, vice president of Marketing at TiVo. “For the average American couple, watching television together is a daily shared experience.”

To get an invite to this exclusive speed dating affair, singles (both TiVo subscribers and non-subscribers welcome) must RSVP by taking the “TiVo Matchmaker Quiz.” Space is limited and RSVP confirmations will be sent while spaces last. The quiz consists of questions inspired by the most beloved features of the TiVo(R) service that automatically find and record the shows subscribers love most. TiVo will then make matches (“TiVo Suggestions”) based on TV interests.
