2006 PC World Innovations Awards Winners Unveiled

Twenty-Five Products and Services Set the Standard for Ingenuity, Creativity, and Vision

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ — Today, PC World, the most widely-read computer or business magazine, announced the winners of the 2006 PC World Innovations Awards. The online-only article showcases groundbreaking products that transcend the boundaries of computers and consumer electronics as well as push the limits of technology. These devices help define industry standards and raise the threshold for what is considered inspired and unique. PC World’s February 2006 issue features the winners list in its monthly “Up Front” column, authored by VP/Editor-in-Chief Harry McCracken; the issue hits newsstands on January 17, 2006.

“The PC World Innovations Awards are exceptional because they honor the technology that powers our lives – products that effectively combine originality and performance,” said McCracken. “These benchmark, breakthrough items are all standouts among the competition.”

This is the third year the editors of PC World have rewarded products that have boldly explored the world of digital entertainment, consumer electronics, and wireless communications. Looking beyond just trendsetting devices, they also considered progressive design and function before narrowing the field to the 25 winners that distinguished themselves from the pack. The awards will be presented at the ShowStoppers Media Reception, an invitation-only event, on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas during CES.
