TiVoPony (re)confirms TiVo’s HDTV plans for 2006.

Buried in a thread on TiVoCommunity.com was this post by TiVoPony, aka Bob Poniatowski, a long time TiVo employee in Product Marketing at TiVo.

The gist is:

There’s a dual tuner HD box coming next year that will work with both cable and ATSC.

Or, if you have Comcast cable, there’s a version of TiVo coming that will work on the 6412 dual tuner HD cable platform.

Both are dual tuner HD, and both are planned to be out next year. Dan’s right – CES is typically where you’d hear more info/details.

What I’ve been hearing for a while is that mid-2006 is the expected time frame. We’ll know more in January when CES happens. (That’s the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas – I’ll be there.)
