Official word is that the offer is good on ALL TiVo boxes at Best Buy. But TiVo has had about 20 calls from around the country from folks who found that their Best Buy knew nothing about the offer. So, contact TiVo for assistance if your local store doesn’t know what to do.

The Blue Shirt was likely full of crap. There is nothing that stops people from having multiple TiVos.

Now, it may have been a DirecTV promotion which was available to new subscribers only, so you may not have been eligible for the discount, but people buy second (or third, or more) units all the time.

The last time Best Buy ran a TiVo promotion, I went to get a new box for the living room and the blue shirt said he couldn’t sell it to me if I already had DirecTV. That the offer was only good for new subscribers.

Yet people in this community talk about their multiple TiVo boxes and I’m not sure how they managed that???

That’s a good question. I know the current rebate applies to more than just the 40 hour box – but I don’t know if Best Buy will give out the 3 months free on the others. I don’t see why not – they make more off the pricier units anyway.

So can you get a higher-capacity TiVo with this rebate deal, rather than just the 40-hour or the 40-hour-plus-DVD-recorder?
