TIVO AND YAHOO! COLLABORATE TO OFFER ONLINE SCHEDULING THROUGH YAHOO! TV

TiVo (NASDAQ: TIVO ), the creator of and a leader in television services for digital video recorders (DVR), and Yahoo! Inc., (NASDAQ:YHOO), a leading global Internet company, today announced that they will collaborate to offer TiVo’s online scheduling features on Yahoo! TV.

    I just tried it out and it’s pretty nifty. One thing I hated about Tivo’s site is it never remembers my login status. Yahoo does, so that’s nice to see. Yahoo says you have to have a @yahoo.com address, but when you schedule the program you can specify the address to send updates on the program to. It always defaults to the @yahoo account though, and I couldn’t find a way to change that default. The time it took to get the schedule confirmation was as quick as doing it from Tivo’s site.

    I think this is a good partnership for Tivo to have made.
