That don't care what the manufacturability of something else, most people probably don't even know what it means. The consumers care about how much it costs and if the content they want to buy is available on the format.Manufacturability is something the studios and CE vendors are concerned about, and I'm sure Sony, et al, have been doing a lot to assure them and demonstrate that everything will be OK.On the consumer front I think the best defense would be a good offense. A big BD launch - a lot of titles, especially popular ones, at a reasonable price - as close to DVD as possible. And a variety of hardware, also as low in price as practical. Swamp HD-DVD with price and selection.

I don’t think issues like that matter to most consumers. Microsoft and Intel are very good at that game.I look at it as a parallel to our last presidential election. The Bush camp spewed a lot of FUD that the Kerry camp didn't respond to in a timely fashion and thus they managed to convince people that their FUD was fact. I just hope the MSFT/Intel/HD-DVD camp doesn't get any sort of foothold on the public consciousness with their crap about manufacturability and such. Sony needs to step up and address those issues NOW, in my opinion.

I’m actually a little concerned about the FUD factor.
