Galleon, The Exclusive Interview

Dave Zatz did an interview with Leon Nicholls, creator of the old JavaHMO and current Galleon applications for TiVo.

I like to think of Galleon as the TiVo Swiss Army knife – it pretty much does everything. You want email, weather forecasts, or RSS feeds displayed on your TiVo? No problem. You want to schedule downloads of podcasts for streaming to your TiVo? No problem. You want better music, image, and video management than TiVo offers you? No problem. The list goes on! But don’t just take my word for it… TiVo honored Galleon as the “Most Creative Application” in their Developer Challenge.

Check it out.

Well, I like to put it like this:

Galleon does for your TiVo what TiVo does for your television.

…Galleon did more for me than sit there and say it can’t connect to the server…and that’s just trying to configure the bloody thing.

This Galleon app is great, although I need help setting it up to watch CNN video. Does anyone have any advice on that? CNN and Yahoo news seemed fairly straightforward (copy RSS address and paste), but not so for CNN video. Nothing shows up when I cue it up. I’m open to hearing if anyone else had any problems with Galleon and how they were solved.
