Outsourcing firm shutdown flusters TiVo

TiVo, XM Satellite and other companies are scrambling to find new direct-shipping partners after the sudden closure of a Tennessee-based outsourcing firm over the weekend.

This doesn’t seem like that big a deal for TiVo overall, especially given this:

The unexpected shutdown was negligible, TiVo’s Sloan said, commenting that there was “no disruption in shipping with any recently ordered products.” The company, however, expects to announce a new distribution partner later this week, he said.

It *is* a big deal because I can’t buy a new remote on their site now! Or any TiVo schwag, for that matter.

Well, they do say they expect to announce a new partner later this week. So the withdrawal shouldn’t be too bad. :-)

You could also order a remote from Weaknees if you need one immediately. I’m sure there are other online vendors as well, if you do some Googling.
