TiVo, DirecTV extend ad pact

TiVo, a digital video recorder company, said Tuesday it has signed an extension of an advertising services agreement with DirecTV, the satellite broadcaster.

    Forgive my ignorance, but business wasn’t my forte (comm, computers, medicine/biology — but biz stuff – naw!), but what does this mean.

    I have a TiVo from DirecTV so I’ve got a vested interest.

    You knows the promos that show up in the main menu or in the Showcases? My understanding is that both DTV and TiVo can sell that capacity, and they just extended the agreement to keep it going as it has been.

    I think it should also be mentioned that this deal and the one they struck with the cable companies are the two things that will keep this company alive. Their financials have been kind of crappy, no money in selling electronics..
