Voom just got bought by Dish Network

Read about it here.

Just yesterday I read that Cablevision, who owned Voom, had decided to sell it off – that didn’t take long. Seeing as Voom is a very small start-up operator, I expect they’ll probably just be rolled into Dish’s standard network.

With such a small subscriber base (25k or so?), I’d assume they move them off to Dish asap. But since they paid $200 million for a Satellite and Transponder rights that are worth about $350 million they may not put tooo much care into how they convert Voom people to Dish, and make the cutoff of voom transmissions pretty quick? But they will Probably treat them like any other new Sub who wants HD recievers, although I don’t know if the Voom subs will be happy with Dish’s HD content, but perhaps with the voom assets they can expand their HD content even more.
