TiVoToGo shown to the public

TiVo was showing off TTG at the DigitalLife Expo and Engadget got photos and info.

Though I think they’re being overly pessimistic about the copying controls. TiVo also allows blocking of burning DVDs on their integrated units, it has been in there since they shipped, and I’ve never heard of a single use of the system. ReplayTV also provided mechanisms for content providers to block their show sharing, and it was never invoked.

    Still listed as ‘this fall’ – the general feeling is they’ll try to have it out before the end of November for the big shopping rush season.

    *nods* I just really want to play around with this feature. It’d be great to take some episodes of my tv shows with me on my PowerBook, where I can watch them anywhere and hook it up to any tv…
