The Pioneer units came out in 2003 and is a Series2, as is the existing Toshiba DVD/TiVo (not DVD-RW) unit. I have a Pioneer 810H and a standard TiVo S2 box and I do MRV all the time. The forthcoming units are also S2 units. They haven’t sold anything *but* Series2 units since early 2002 or so. So if you can wait a couple of months, I would.
