    Can’t wait.

Does this mean I should hold off on my purchase of a new Series 2? I’ve been wanting one to be able to use the multi room function but if they are going to come out with recorders in them, maybe I should wait.

The Pioneer DVD-RW units have been out since last year (I have an 810H) but the newer Toshiba and Humax units are supposed to cost less, have bigger drives, and some more features. So if you can wait a couple of months, I would.

But none of them are Series 2 Tivo’s are they? I just want to be able to do multi room viewing, not sure I can with a Series 2 on one set and these recorders on another.

They haven’t sold anything *but* Series2 units since early 2002 or so. The Pioneer units came out in 2003 and is a Series2, as is the existing Toshiba DVD/TiVo (not DVD-RW) unit. I have a Pioneer 810H and a standard TiVo S2 box and I do MRV all the time. The forthcoming units are also S2 units.
