Prices coming down

Well, we’ve seen TiVo dropping their prices in the past few months – $199, $299, $399 for the 40, 80, and 140 hour units. And now the $50 rebate.

But it looks like the prices on other units has dropped a bit too. It looks like the Toshiba SD-H400 DVD/TiVo, which is 80 hour, is just a little more than the standard 80 hour TiVo. The lowest I found was for $328, has it for $330. And the $50 S2 rebate *does* apply to this unit. So basically for an extra $30 you can get a decent DVD player with your 80 hour TiVo. Pricing on the Pioneer 810H has also come down a little. is listing it for $675. Several sites have it for less than $700 now, including shipping. And the $50 rebate also applies to this unit. So you can get one for around $625. The Pioneer 57H is still kind of pricey, with a best price of around $990 before rebate.
